| Office Wall Interventions | Fondazione Querini Stampalia | Venice | 2026 |
The project consisted of adding a graphic layer of graffiti, drawings, signs and markings to the walls of the offices at Fondazione Querini Stampalia in Venice. The intervention was conceived as an alternative to a conventional renovation, which would have been both costly and unnecessary given that the offices are scheduled to relocate within the next two years.
Executed directly on the walls using a tagging marker, the project embraces immediacy and reversibility. Yet beyond its visual impact, it operates as a strategic design proposal. The drawings transform the atmosphere and appearance of the offices, but they also embody a broader attitude toward temporary modifications and resource management.
In this sense, the project distinguishes between two complementary dimensions of design: the explicit dimension of graphic design, visible in the marks, drawings and signs themselves; and the implicit dimension of strategic design, expressed through the decision to avoid an expensive and short-lived renovation in favor of a lightweight, adaptive and temporary intervention.
